I had an opportunity to visit the Hackney Silver Surfers centre before my presentation day on Monday the 10th. The purpose for my visit was to familiar myself with the environment before hand and visit the staff at the centre as well as evaluating my presentation strategy by speaking to one of the staff Mr. Rick, also possibly observe the kind of activities that are taking place within the centre and find out more about the IT equipments in place and the kind of training provided to the members.
All of the members at the centre are aged over 50 and there is a wide range of activities that they engage on during the sessions to encourage their creativity and improve their basic IT skills.

ReplyDeleteHow did the presentation go at the silver surfers? In your email you said everyone has gone on holiday but what did you manage to get out of them before they went away?
Maybe if you let us know what you have so far we can all try and help you sort out what can be generated in the last few weeks? I'm sure you'll be able to get something good from your work so far!

ReplyDeleteGot your e-mail. If everyone is on holidays and you've got to wait for them to come back, it will then be too late as our thesis will be due by then.
Have you thought about visiting an elderly home, there are loads of them out there. This may allow you to continue with your research. I am sure one of them will be more than will to accommodate you. Don't know if this is an option for you.
If it is, probably all you may need to do is get a letter from uni and keep going.
